XXVI IATO Annual Convention in Udaipur

Udaipur hosted the XXVI IATO Annual Convention from 2nd to 5th September 2010. The three day conference attended by Ms. Padmaja Kumari Mewar of Udaipur and Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur was inaugurated at the Hotel Inder Residency on the 2nd September and focused on 'Tourism In The New World Order'. The event was attended by 1200 delegates from all over India.  A number of eminent dignitaries present included Kumari Selja, Union Minister of Tourism, Govt. of India; Ms. Bina Kak, Minister of Tourism Govt. of Rajasthan; Mr. Devesh Chaturvedi, Add. Director General Tourism, Govt. of India; Mrs. Usha Sharma, Commissionar cum Principle Secretary Tourism, Govt. of Rajasthan and Mr. Rajesh Mudgill, Chairman Convention; Mr. Vijay Thakur, President IATO and Arjun Sharma, Sr. Vice President, IATO.

On the second day of the convention attended by Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur, various sessions were organized including Bollywood and Tourism in which Ms. Padmaja Kumari Mewar of Udaipur was a panelist with Mr. Siddharth Anand, Movie Director; Mr. G. S. Chahal, Chief Advisor, Madhya Pradesh Tourism, Mrs. Usha Sharma, Commissionar cum Principle Secretary Tourism, Govt. of Rajasthan and Ms. Deepti Bhatnagar, a  Bollywood Actress and Anchor person.

On the final day, the convention started with IATO Chapter Chairman Meet followed by various sessions and a Valedictory Session addressed by Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur. The day concluded with a presentation of Mementos followed by a dinner hosted by HRH Group of Hotels at The Manek Chowk, The City Palace Complex, Udaipur.

The convention was a major event for the lake city of Udaipur.
