Inauguration of Child Eye Care Centre

Ms. Padmaja Kumari Mewar of Udaipur and Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur were special guests at the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Child Eye Care Centre on the 29th July 2010 at Alakh Nayan Mandir Eye Institute, Udaipur.

The center is the first specialist children's eye hospital in southern Rajasthan, supported by Orbis International. It was inaugurated by Dr. C P Joshi, Honourable Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Government of India.

Dr. H. S. Chundawat and Dr. Laxmi Jhala welcomed guests at the Center and showed them around as he talked about the various activities they co-ordinate.

Mr. Mewar congratulated all those involved in the project and gave his full support to their motto 'quality vision for all'.

As a trustee of Alakh Nayan Mandir, Ms. Mewar gave a vote of thanks after asking the audience to contribute and help visually impaired children through rural health programmes and training for ophthalmic and para-ophthalmic personnel.
